The recipe is so simple but before starting, let me tell you one thing that, you will see some doors with have the same kind of things. So that you will see the differences in planks and Iron Ingots. 

So because the recipe is the same for those doors, I will tell you one recipe and by following this and replacing the planks you will be able to create different doors…

To create any plank or Iron Door…

First: all you have to do is go to any nearby oak tree and then cut the tree to collect logs. You can easily cut the log without using any tool but it will be much better if you use an axe.

Nothing different just you will save some sometimes if you use an axe instead of a hand.

If you collected some logs then you have to just put the logs into your crafting table to get planks. You can also see the image that I gave below.

Now the most important and last thing you have to do is put 6 planks into the crafting but not randomly. You have to put the planks in a specific formation and after that, you will get your door.

If you want to create an oak door then you have to put two oak planks in the first row, make sure that you are leaving the third row. Just like this, you have to do the same in the next two rows (Put two planks in the first two empty boxes and leave the third empty box as it is.).

If you will ask me to choose a door then I will go with an Iron door or a hidden sticky piston door. The reason I am choosing the Iron door is because of its durability and blast resistance quality, and on the other hand, I am choosing the hidden piston door is because of its hidden function and clean look.

The main thing that you have to keep in your mind is you can’t open an iron door without using any Redstone component. So my point is you have to must create any Redstone component to open an iron door.

How to create a sticky piston

Creating a sticky piston is so simple, all you have to do is collect slime and a piston. Now simply open your crafting table and put the slime and piston with a formation.

You have to put the slime ball in the first row’s middle empty box and the piston will be placed in the second row’s middle empty box. you can also look at the image that I gave below to make sure that you are doing everything right.

Now take the sticky piston to your inventory and use this for different purposes but wait today I am gonna use this piston to create a door. So let’s come back to our main topic…

Steps to make a piston door

First, all you have to do is place a block in the 3×2 platform, and yeah you can choose any block according to your choice. Now you have to just simply place two blocks that are going outwards, but make sure that you start doing this from the middle block’s each side.

Here it can be a little difficult but now you have to place another on the farthest block (It may look like you are creating a staircase effect).

After that, you have to place some more additional blocks until the structure is 3 blocks tall. Now you will see two blocks at the top so you have to just place a Redstone torch at the top.

This is the actual structure of your 3×2 piston door. Though if you want a wider door then you can make it wider by placing more blocks, Redstone at every time.

Now you have to repeat the 3×2 Redstone platform once more, and by placing some temporary blocks you can do this perfectly. You can also see the image that I gave below and there I used polished diorite as temporary blocks.

When you will be done you can easily remove those temporary blocks. Now all you have to do is place 2 pressure plates on the top platform of each side.

The pressure will allow you to open the door automatically. Now just place a sticky piston while looking at one of the restone torches from the middle of the pressure plates. You have to add two more sticky pistons and repeat on the other side.

Now find a place and attach a block, make sure that you will add Redstone dust to the top because this is the only way to see that all pistons are working or not when you will step on the pressure plates.

On the other hand, you have to use some blocks on the front of the sticky piston, of course, it will be your door.

Sometimes this kind of hidden piston door may look a little bulky but if you try to make the mechanism part (3 rows from the down part) under the ground then it can look so simple and clean.
